Public Skating

Skating is a great way to get some exercise. Whether you are young, old, or in-between, why not get out and have some fun! Skating is offered in both Almonte and Pakenham arenas. Each location is equipped with change rooms and washrooms facilities.

Skate sharpening is available at the John Levi Community Centre in Almonte, with hours posted at the arena.

Public Skating Rules

Helmets are recommended for all skaters
Skate at a safe speed, in the same direction as other skaters
Games, tag, rough play and speed skating are not permitted
Respectfully leave the middle ice surface for children and less confident skaters
Report all accidents or injuries to the on-site supervisor
Children must be supervised by a responsible person
Only persons wearing skates will be permitted on the ice surface
Only CSA approved skating aids are permitted on the ice during Moms, Pops and Tots program
Pucks, balls or sticks are not permitted
Food and drinks are not permitted on the ice surface
Foul language or inappropriate behaviour will result in immediate removal from the facility

Season passes can be purchased at the arenas, MM Public Libraries and at the Rec & Culture Dept. at Almonte Old Town Hall (2nd floor).
